HAMILLROAD SOFTWARE WILL DEBUT ITS BELLISSIMA DMS FOR FLEXO AT INFO*FLEX 2016 IN DALLAS, TEXAS (MARCH 7 – 8, 2016 IN BOOTH 131), SHOWCASING DRAMATICALLY IMPROVED PRINT QUALITY FOR FLEXO

1st March, 2016

CAMBRIDGE, UNITED KINGDOM — Hamillroad Software, a leading RIP and screening innovator, announced today that the company’s Award winning Bellissima Digitally Modulated Screening for Flexo will be making its first public showing at the INFO*FLEX exhibition in Dallas, Texas (USA) from March 7 – 8 in booth 131.

Award Winning Technology

Hamillroad’s Bellissima screening has been in test at Syreline in South Africa for the last two years and has already won several FTA awards including Gold in both the Flexible Packaging Narrow Web Process Category and Flexible Packaging Wide Web Process Category. The Gold medal winner (in the Flexible Packaging Narrow Web Process category) was particularly commended for its beautifully reproduced photography by the judges, who applauded the stunning result achieved and declared the entry “Best on Show

Erich Kuhl, the FTASA Executive Secretary in particular said, “The dot integrity and rendition were excellent … and the printed results were stunning to say the least – almost super-natural.

Outstanding Quality – 300+ lpi on Wide Web Flexible

Andy Cave, Hamillroad’s Screening Expert who oversaw the development of Bellissima said, “We were very proud to receive these awards as clear testimony to the quality of print that we have achieved with Bellissima. The improvements we are seeing with Bellissima, compared to existing flexo offerings, is nothing short of unbelievable. The effective lpi has dramatically increased from 150-175 lpi to over 300 lpi. The resulting imagery is beautiful, as well as contains an unprecedented level of detail. The flat tints are extremely smooth and the overall print is just so sharp, with brighter crisper colors. Various limitations printers previously had to accept as being part of flexo printing (such as hard-breaks on vignettes that fade to zero) have just disappeared.

Cave added, “We are very excited about introducing this technology into the US, Canadian and South American market and showcasing it at INFO*FLEX. We strongly believe that the introduction of Bellissima into the printing industry heralds an exciting new era for flexographic printing. The combination of being able to match (if not exceed) the print quality of gravure at significantly reduced cost will allow flexo printers to meet the ever increasing demands of brand owners for higher quality printing of shorter print runs.

About Bellissima DMS Halftone Screening

The halftone printing process is an elaborate illusion created to trick the human eye into believing that it is seeing a continuous tone image. As with any good performance, the quality of the illusion determines how well the viewer is made to believe the impossible.

Hamillroad’s new Bellissima DM Screening for Flexo creates illusions of continuous tone so flawlessly that users would be forgiven for not believing what they are seeing. Apart from the illusion of beautiful continuous tone images, DM screening has some other tricks up its sleeve including the ability to produce smooth flat tints in 4 colors, faster make ready, and easier handling on press. Its finale however is nothing short of spectacular because as we have seen, it has the ability to leave those who don’t have it wondering why their work has disappeared.
