Extras for Harlequin RIPHamillroads JobName code:
This code when installed on your Harlequin RIP will always use the jobs file name as the Job Name listed in the RIPs "Output Controller / Monitor".
Version 1.2 contains the following fixes:
1. Does NOT override the job name when the input source is from a plugin (such as Appletalk or Serial for example).
2. Reports the file name correctly when printing PDF files (as well as PS, EPS, JPEG, TXT & TIFF files).
3. Strips any trailing ".pdf" or ".ps" off the resulting file name.
Version 1.3 contains the following additional fixes (after requests for more changes):
1. Reports the filename of files from the Spool folder plugin (PS, EPS, PDF, JPEG, TXT & TIFF).
2. Strips out trailing ".pdf", ".ps", ".eps", ".txt", ".jpg", ".tif", ".tiff", ".PDF", ".PS", ".EPS", ".TXT", ".JPG", ".TIF" and ".TIFF".

The latest released version of Lightning TIFF is v1.1 (** updated**), which can be downloaded from << here >>. This is a fully functional version that will run in a fully functional Demo Mode for 7 days, following which it will stop working.

FirstPROOF Std and Pro:
The latest released version of FirstPROOF Std and Pro is v5.2 (** new **), which can be downloaded from << here >> - please note that this is *NOT* a free upgrade (other than from 4.x/5.x). To upgrade you will need to purchase an Upgrade Key from your dealer - to do so, please take a look at our Sales Page. These are fully functional versions that will run in a fully functional Demo Mode for 28 days, following which they will revert to running in Lite Mode. FirstPROOF Patches
FirstPROOF Std and Pro:
If you have purchased FirstPROOF Std or Pro, you must use version 3.2 or later of the "HMR Bootfile Installer". This is shipped by default with the v3.0 release of FirstPROOF.
If you are printing PDF jobs with transparency in them to a version 7.x Harlequin RIP, then due to a bug in the RIP, you should make sure that you have at least version 3.3 of the "HMR Bootfile Installer" installed (on your Harlequin RIP). This is shipped by default with the v3.1 release of FirstPROOF and works around the bug.

Warning - the 3.2 (and later) version of the "HMR Bootfile Installer" used for FirstPROOF Std and Pro is NOT compatible with FirstPROOF PGB, TIFF or Plus, so make sure you are using the appropriate version of the boot file installer with the appropriate version(s) of FirstPROOF.
FirstPROOF PGB, TIFF and Plus:
If you have upgraded your Harlequin RIP to the version 6.0 Eclipse release, then due to a bug in the socket plugin shipped with that release, you should make sure that you have at least version 2.2 of the "HMR Bootfile Installer" installed (on your Harlequin RIP). This is shipped by default with the v1.5, v2.0 and v2.1 release of FirstPROOF and works around the bug.
There is also a further issue with the Harlequin RIP version 6 SP4 release, for which you should make sure you have at least version 2.3 of the "HMR Bootfile Installer". This is shipped by default with the v2.1.1 release of FirstPROOF.

You should also check with your Harlequin RIP OEM about the availability of any updates to the RIP which might fix the socket plugin bug.
FirstPROOF Upgrades
FirstPROOF Std and Pro:
The latest released version of FirstPROOF is v5.2 - please note that this is NOT a free upgrade (other than from 4.x/5.x). It has substantial improvements over all previous versions, so is well worth upgrading to. To upgrade, you will need to purchase an Upgrade Key from your dealer.
FirstPROOF PGB, TIFF and Plus:
The last released version of these variants of FirstPROOF was v2.1.2 (PC) / v2.1.3c (Mac). This release is no longer available as it has been replaced by FirstPROOF Std and Pro. If you want to use a later version of FirstPROOF, you will need to upgrade.
General:
Where Hamillroad software is sold via a dealer, it comes with free maintenance updates to users for the first 12 months after registration. In addition, upgrades to users (to the same or an equivalent product) for the first 12 months after registration are also free.
However, Hamillroad Software also badges and sells its products through a number of OEMs. Each of these may have their own upgrade policy and so may charge. Therefore in this case, please check with your OEM as to what if any upgrade costs apply.
